Abstract: Breaking from the tradition of previous Math Club talks by using relatively few numbers and virtually no equations, this talk will present the results of original anthropological research on the scientific enterprise and scientific membership as they relate to math. Ultimately, this presentation will offer a look at how gender and disciplinary differences influence science and scientists, and examine the fundamental question on everyone's mind: "Is math a science?"
