Abstract: The aim of this talk will be to give an overview of factorization. Many of you are used to thinking of polynomials or integers when you hear the word "factorization." However, factorization encompasses something more general and important in mathematics.

This talk will me mostly example-oriented. We will look at some of the standard (and some unusual) animals in the zoo of factorization. The emphasis of this talk will be more on "discovery by example" rather than "full generality". Additionally, this talk will be accessible to all. From undergraduates who are interested in what factorization is all about to graduate students who might be interested in some of the open problems, there should be something for everyone!
